Squeaky Clean rough animation!

Posted in 3D, Work in Progress, short films, animation exercises on August 4th, 2007 by annamations

How exciting, i have finally blocked out all the rough animation for my film! Plus I came up with a new title, since ‘Bath Day’ is not really that exciting.. I didnt upload the original block test since there have been a lot of changes so it doesnt really reflect how the story will be presented. You can see the development of the visual sequence of events comparing with the original storyboards.

Please feel free to submit any comments and feedback since it is essential at this stage - while alterations are still feasible! I would love some new perspective on the whole thing. Enjoy! and keep in mind that the finished polished piece will look so much better!

Keep walking

Posted in 3D, Work in Progress, animation exercises on July 20th, 2007 by annamations

My latest character walk for the boy, quite pleased with this one after scrapping a few quite amusing but inappropriate ones. The principle of layers works better as in 2D animation, starting by geting the feet keys right, then adding the hips, upper body, arm swings and finally the head. Trying to give the boy personality it ended up looking all a bit too much so I kept it simple, and added a ball - which perhaps can bounce later..!

Wooden dreamcatcher doll

My first character from 2D to 3D! I really enjoyed researching into native american legends and visuals, and designing the character was quite fun.

Below is the final design for the character and the 3D model. He is my version of a wooden doll that protects children from nightmares using a dreamcatcher as a net.I would have liked to also add textures to his wrist and ankle cuffs but being made for a group project it was more important to spend time bringing him to life! Bouncing 3D ball

Posted in 3D, animation exercises on July 2nd, 2007 by annamations

Our first exercise on the MA was of course to animate a bouncing ball. Of two different weights. And here was my version, a shoot-in-the-foot type of ball since this was my first animation attempt with 3D software. It could use shadow at the end, but I was quite pleased with the result.
